Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 16th May 2023 Written Update: In today’s episode, Abhimanyu invites Abhir to join them, bidding farewell to Manjiri. However, Abhir refuses to hold Abhimanyu’s hand, leaving Abhimanyu and Manjiri stunned. Manjiri confronts Arohi, questioning how she could manipulate Abhir. Arohi, taken aback, asks Manjiri what she means. Manjiri expresses disbelief that Arohi is trying to create distance between Abhimanyu and Abhir, emphasizing that, as Abhir’s aunt, she should not be doing such a thing.
Arohi argues that for Manjiri and Abhimanyu, only Abhir matters now. She claims to have been ignored ever since Abhir entered their lives. Manjiri tells Arohi not to feel insecure, but Arohi counters, stating that no one cares about her or Ruhi. She reveals that Abhir had insisted on talking to Ruhi, so she made Ruhi understand that she couldn’t suddenly accept him. Arohi further confesses that she has kept quiet about Abhir being Abhimanyu’s son since Gangaur, putting on a happy facade for everyone’s sake. She even admits to trying to send Akshara and Abhinav to the USA.
Manjiri confronts Arohi, expressing disappointment in her for hiding such an important secret. Birla and Abhimanyu discover that Arohi has known the truth about Abhir for a long time. Manjiri questions how Arohi could deceive her, leaving Arohi in tears. Meanwhile, Akshara feeds Muskaan water while Surekha taunts her for drinking alcohol. Neelima asks Kairav what happened to Muskaan, and Surekha teases him.
Abhinav defends Muskaan, refusing to tolerate any criticism against her. Manish scolds Kairav for calling Muskaan while holding the file. Kairav reveals that two girls from his office spiked Muskaan’s drink. Muskaan asks Manish not to scold Kairav and admits in front of the Goenkas that she and Kairav have feelings for each other. However, Kairav bursts Muskaan’s bubble, confessing that he doesn’t like her and only cares for her because of Abhinav. Muskaan is left teary-eyed.

Manjiri accuses Arohi of hiding the truth, and Abhimanyu accuses Arohi of betrayal. Arohi defends herself, claiming that Abhimanyu is breaking Ruhi’s heart repeatedly for the sake of Abhir. She questions why Manjiri ignored Ruhi and accuses both Manjiri and Abhimanyu of ruining everyone’s lives, including those of Akshara and Abhinav, by seeking custody of Abhir.
Arohi refuses to accept Abhir and expresses her wish that Abhimanyu never gains custody of him. Manjiri dismisses Arohi’s curse, stating that Akshara and Arohi only know how to inflict pain. Arohi retorts, claiming Abhir will not find happiness at the Birla house. Manjiri insists that Abhir is coming and urges Arohi to accept it. In response, Arohi decides to leave the house with Ruhi.
