Anupama 18th December 2023 Written Update: In today’s episode, Choti is upset with Anupama for not helping her first and instead helping others. Anupama tells Choti that she is her mother and would never do that. Choti feels that Anupama doesn’t care for her as much as for Pari, her granddaughter. She mentions that Anupama never spends time with her but takes Pari on a picnic. Malti Devi agrees with Choti.
Anupama gets upset with her for putting such thoughts in Choti’s mind. Anuj, feeling frustrated, tells everyone to stop arguing. He says sorry to Choti and asks her to go to her room. Anupama explains to Anuj that Choti doesn’t understand, but she does what is needed in that situation. Anuj understands and says Anupama is a great mother who would do anything for Choti.
But he also says Choti feels left out. He wonders if Anupama could choose between saving Pari and Choti, who she would pick. Anupama is hurt and tells Anuj she thought he would understand her without explanation. She shares how difficult the situation was and how she saved them. She explains that taking Choti first could have caused the car to fall off a cliff.
Anupama believes a mother loves all her children equally and would risk her life for them. She asks Anuj how he, as her husband, could doubt her. Anupama feels sad that she’s being questioned for her actions. Anuj listens quietly. Anupama refuses to prove her love as a mother. Anuj says he’s not questioning her motherly love but feels their 3-year relationship is less important than her 26 years with another family. He feels she still gives her old family more importance.
Anupama points out that Anuj never set boundaries with Malti Devi and Barkha, even though they were against her. She believes family deserves chances. She wonders why Anuj’s family gets chances but not hers, especially since he says husband and wife are equal. Anuj replies that he doesn’t see Malti Devi as his mother, so Anupama should handle her negativity.
He accuses Anupama of always choosing her old family over his and reminds her of past incidents. He wants her to be more present for their family. Anupama asks if Anuj feels she neglects him and Choti. The episode ends with Anuj agreeing, leaving Anupama heartbroken.
Precap: Anupama plans to go to America. Her friend advises her to let go of her ties and be free. Anupama says that memories stay even when leaving relationships behind, whether in India or abroad. She is seen on a flight.
Anupama 18th December 2023 Episode Review
The episode of this drama series does an excellent job of showing how complicated family feelings and misunderstandings can be. The main character, Anupama, is in a tough spot because her family and friends don’t understand what she means by what she does, especially her daughter, Choti, and her husband, Anuj. The episode does a great job of showing the problems a mother and wife have when dealing with family obligations from the past and the present.
Anupama’s struggle to balance her roles and the fact that her family members then question her choices gives the story more depth. An interesting part of the episode is the fight between Anupama and Anuj, in which he accuses her of putting her old family ahead of their new one. It shows the everyday problems and emotional problems in blended families.
As seen in Anupama’s conversation with Anuj, the episode also discusses trust and understanding in a marriage. As the show ends, there is a touching moment where Anupama feels hurt and confused by her husband. Despite its emotional content, the episode realistically shows how families work, how hard it is to keep relationships going, and how a woman torn between her past and present feels inside. The next episode, which will hint at Anupama’s trip to America, should add something new to the story.
