Yeh Hai Chahatein 20th May 2023 Written Episode Update: The episode starts with Arjun joking with Kaashvi that he sold his kidneys to pay her fees. She initially believes him, but then he reveals it is a joke. He hands her a scholarship form. Kaashvi mentions that Mahima is not at home. Arjun says that she is getting ready. He asks Kaashvi to promise to remain his best friend forever, which she does. She signs the scholarship form, feeling that their friendship has already started to change.
Meanwhile, Nayantara arrives at Samrat’s house. She presents herself as Mahima’s mom without initially seeing Samrat’s face. When Samrat hears Nayantara’s voice and sees her face in a mirror, he’s surprised and can’t believe it. Nayantara scolds Samrat for hurting Mahima and asks him if he understands love. He tells her he didn’t know love until one girl taught him. He thought this girl was dead and felt empty without her. He asks Nayantara why she married someone else and left him. He confesses he blames himself for being late on a day he can’t forget.

Samrat wants to know why Nayantara didn’t come back to him. She answers that he was responsible for her parent’s death, and she can’t return to him. She reveals that Mansi told her everything, accusing Samrat of caring about money and property, not relationships. Samrat gets upset, saying he saved Nayantara’s parents from Mansi. He didn’t expect Mansi to put a bomb in the house, causing him to lose his parents, too.
He thought he and Nayantara would fight against Mansi together, but she left him alone. She says she had no other choice. He tells her she should have returned to him, and he would have explained everything. But she tells him it’s pointless to talk about the past. She’s there now to discuss Mahima and Pradyumna. She warns him not to interfere.

He retorts that he’s already ended things with Mahima and is doing the same with her. He views Mahima as being like Nayantara and vows not to let Mahima mess up Pradyumna’s life. He tells Nayantara he hates her, and their relationship is over. He asks her to leave his house. They both blame each other for their problems. Nayantara promises herself not to reveal that Kaashvi is Samrat’s daughter. Samrat is left wondering why he feels so upset.
Kaashvi worries that others might find out she’s in love with Arjun. Mahima asks Nayantara about Samrat’s decision. Nayantara admits she couldn’t convince Samrat. She suggests that Mahima should marry Arjun. But Mahima says she knows what she needs to do and leaves.
