During a candid chat with her Coolie co-star Sathyaraj, Shruti revealed that her father didn’t learn Bengali for films – but for love.

Shruti explained that Kamal Haasan’s decision to pick up Bengali came from his fondness for Aparna Sen.

Adding more intrigue, Shruti disclosed another sweet detail. In Kamal Haasan’s film Hey Ram, actress Rani Mukerji’s character was named after Aparna Sen. Rani played a Bengali woman in the film and also Kamal’s love interest – a subtle nod to his admiration for Aparna.
